approach being a technique known as a &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/gourock.com\/suspension-kit_suggestions.html\">cable suspension<\/a>&#8220;.&nbsp; The cable suspension design is very efficient for both indoor installations, as well as outdoor setups.&nbsp; The general context is that a series of cables or wires are tensioned between some supporting structures, and then the batting cage net is clipped\/suspended underneath the wires.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">For indoor installations the cables are generally attached and tensioned between walls, or from eyebolts that are installed into ceiling rafters.&nbsp; And for outdoor installations the cables are most typically tensioned between some poles or posts that have been set into ground.&nbsp; The general recommendations for either type of installation is to locate the cables so that they line-up with the dimensions of the batting cage net that is being suspended.&nbsp; This means that there is usually 3 cables for an average sized net:&nbsp; one for each side, and one running down the center.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">For additional Helvetica, sans-serif\">A recent Gourock batting cage customer documented his installation, and sent us this great photo portfolio of the construction process and materials that he opted to use.&nbsp; This is a residential <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gourock.com\/blog\/category\/batting-cage-installation\/\" title=\"batting cage installation\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"356\">batting cage installation<\/a> that utilizes the cable suspension technique, and features a custom footprint\/bed for the batting area and a unique clamping mechanism to secure the wires to the square steel support poles.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">The netting is a <a href=\"http:\/\/gourock.com\/battingcage_HDPE.html\">#42 HDPE Batting Cage Net<\/a>, 12&#8242; high X 14&#8242; wide X 55&#8242; long.&nbsp; This net has a physical weight of 100 lbs.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\">As you can see from the end results of this project, he also added a lighting system for nighttime practice.<\/span><br \/><span
