Find the Right Netting for Your Enclosure
Our aviary netting serves two primary purposes: containing your birds within an enclosure, and protecting them from outside threats. We have outlined the best solutions for each application below.
For Bird Containment (Aviaries, Bird Pens, Poultry Runs)
When building an enclosure, the most important factor is choosing a mesh size that is smaller than the birds' heads to prevent escape or injury. Our twisted-knotted DuPont® Nylon is lightweight, strong, and will not harm your birds.
- For Large Birds (Macaws, Birds of Prey, Large Poultry): A 1-3/4" mesh with a durable #18 or #21 twine provides a strong, reliable barrier for larger species without significantly obstructing the view.
- For Medium to Small Birds (Finches, Conures, Quail): A 1" or 3/4" mesh is required to safely contain smaller birds. We recommend a lighter #12 or #18 twine for a low-profile, less visually intrusive bird pen netting that is still exceptionally strong.
For Predator Protection (Covering Hatcheries & Poultry Yards)
To protect your flock or fish stock from airborne predators like hawks and owls, you need a barrier that is both a visual deterrent and physically strong enough to repel an attack.
- Recommended Netting: We recommend our 1-3/4" mesh with a heavy-duty #21 or #36 twine nylon. This robust predatory bird net creates a formidable overhead canopy that is built to last for years in harsh outdoor conditions, making it the top choice for poultry netting and fish hatchery netting applications.
