Choosing Your Bird Netting: A Guide by Bird Size

The key to effective bird control is choosing a mesh size that is small enough to prevent the target birds from passing through. All our bird netting is made from durable, twisted-knotted DuPont® Nylon for maximum lifespan.

For Large Birds (Pigeons, Gulls, Crows, Hawks)

Recommended Mesh Size: 1-3/4"
This mesh provides a strong, reliable physical barrier against larger bird species. It is the most common choice for bird control netting over large, open areas like building rooftops, retention ponds, and agricultural fields. For robust strength, we recommend our #18 or #21 twine nylon.

For Medium to Small Birds (Sparrows, Starlings, Swallows)

Recommended Mesh Size: 1" or 3/4"
This is the most versatile bird exclusion netting for a wide range of commercial and residential uses. The smaller openings are perfect for sealing off semi-enclosed spaces like loading docks, hangars, warehouses, barns, and pavilions from common nesting birds. We recommend the #12 or #18 twine for a low-visibility yet effective barrier.

Recommended Mesh Size: 1/4" (Fine Mesh Debris Netting)
