For Garden Protection (From Animals & Pests)
The key to effective protection is choosing a mesh size smaller than the animal you need to block, with a twine strength appropriate for the animal's size and determination.
- To Block Large Animals (Deer): A strong physical barrier is the most effective deer deterrent. We recommend a 1-3/4" or 4" mesh made from our heavy-duty #36 or #72 twine nylon. This creates a formidable deer protection netting that is far more durable than typical plastic fencing.
- To Block Medium Animals (Raccoons, Squirrels, Large Birds): To protect your crops from common garden pests, a 1" to 1-3/4" meshmade from our durable #18 or #21 twine nylon is the perfect choice for garden protection nets and fruit orchard netting.
- To Block Small Birds & Pests: A 3/4" mesh is an effective barrier against smaller birds that prey on berry bushes, fruit trees, and seedlings.
For Plant Support (Garden Trellis Netting)
Using a strong nylon trellis saves space, improves air circulation, and can significantly increase your yields. A square mesh pattern is recommended for trellis applications.
- 4" Square Mesh: This is the ideal garden trellis netting for most vining plants, including cucumbers, squash, pole beans, and melons. The large openings provide robust support while making harvesting easy. We recommend our #15 or #36 twine for dependable, season-long strength.
- 1-3/4" Square Mesh: A great choice for creating a denser support structure for smaller plants or for use as planter box netting.
