Deer and bird barrier netting are equally popular in both rural and urban environments, as both types of living areas have their own individual concerns with deer and birds. A recent local customer here in Bellingham has a chicken coop and garden, and also a big need for both types of animal exclusion. For the deer netting, the primary purpose is to block-off the entire surrounding area to keep them from entering the garden area entirely. And for the chickens, the surrounding deer barrier nets keep them contained within the overall space as well. But in addition to that, we have a lot of predatory birds here in Bellingham, primarily eagles and hawks. This customer, like many others in the same situation, require a bird exclusion netting to cover the top of the chicken coop area to keep the predatory falcons out.
Here is a provided photo of the garden/coop and the netting he installed. The surrounding deer barrier net is the #15 X 4″ knotted nylon netting, and it is suspended and hung between a series of general in-ground fence posts. He used a spool of the #60 nylon twine to weave/lace through the top meshes of the netting, acting as a nice support and border for overall length of net.
