Last month we supplied a series of custom soccer barrier netting productions for use at an installation at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, NYC. The event was a professional job being built for the New York City Football Club (NYCFC) 24 Hour Game:

New York City FC kicked off its soccer marathon ahead of Sunday’s home opener against the Los Angeles Galaxy with a day-long soccer match at Rockefeller Center Friday afternoon.
The two teams — Team Villa vs. Team Vieira — will comprise over 500 New Yorkers participating in a 24-hour, five-on-five game on an artificial field smack in front of 30 Rockefeller Place.

The netting that was facilitated by Gourock for this job was a series of nets built for the surrounding perimeter area, as well as nets to cover the top of the scaffolding structure covering the playing field. The netting for this project was built from DuPont® type 66-728 twisted nylon twine, and prepared in a knotted mesh construction. The nets were all fabricated with a diamond mesh pattern, and each had a 5/16″ braided polyester rope bordering installed around all 4 edges. There were a few different combinations of sizes needed for the overall installation:

Cover netting for the top of the scaffolding structure:
