Nylon Netting Panels With Custom Shapes

Wednesday, October 15th, 2014

Gourock.com supplies a pretty wide range of nylon netting options, and there are many customers that require some fairly custom shapes in order for the netting to accomplish the intended job correctly.  We typically see this sort of necessity with a lot of nets that are being hung or suspended within pretty particular framing structures or matching the contours of a building roofline.  There are lots of customers that opt to go with some bulk sections of netting so that they can then use the overall amount of material to “mold/adjust” within their specific area – and then cut the excess mesh if needed.  But many times the nets are going to be under a decent amount of tension or pressure around the edges, so it is highly beneficial in the long run to have a rope bordering sewn-in (which dramatically increases the strength of the product around the perimeter – and creates a very dependable attachment point for clips or hooks).

Some typical examples of netting installations that often require custom shape features include:

  • Baseball/softball backstops
  • Warehouse barrier applications
  • Ceiling nets covering yards or spectator areas
  • Golf barrier nets at driving ranges
  • Trash barrier nets around landfills
  • Netting for railings and stairs
  • Bird and animal containment applications
  • Sports stadiums and bleachers
  • And many multipurpose residential or industrial applications

Because Gourock offers a variety of mesh sizes and twine thickness for nets, there is generally a good selection to consider for your particular application.  For instance, you’d want to aim for a 1″ mesh size if you’re doing a gold driving range barrier net, and a 1-3/4″ mesh size if you’re doing a baseball/softball stadium or backstop net.

Regarding the production of custom-shaped netting panels, the best way to get going on a project like that is to get some accurate measurements of the space/area that is to be covered by the nylon netting mesh, and forward a basic drawing over our way to take a looks at.  Let us know some details about what the netting is being used for (so that a proper mesh/twine can be suggested), and we can come up with an initial quote for you on getting the product made and shipped your way.
