Square Nylon Nets With Portals

Thursday, January 31st, 2013

There are many types of netting installations that require the finished product to feature a portal through the central area of the panel.  Often these portals are used to allow for objects to pass-through the netting while maintaining a protective barrier for the surrounding area (for instance, softball and baseball pitching machines), whereas another common instance is when some piece of structural equipment (like an air conditioner unit for example) needs to be accounted for as the netting itself is hanging over a particular region.  Gourock.com has supplied dozens of custom nets that feature customer-specified portal locations, and they all have had pretty unique purposes – but the end result always allows for our customers to maintain the flexibility of getting their protective barrier netting hung-up while taking into account their requirements for objects to easily breach the mesh as needed.

Gourock can quote and supply customized nets that integrate portals according to most any particular dimensions that you are aiming for.  Using the DuPont® knotted nylon netting and the 5/16″ Dacron® rope bordering is very beneficial because there is a very wide range of twine thicknesses and mesh sizes to select from, and the final result is a net that is reinforced on all edges with extremely durable braided rope (sewn-in).
The following drawings help demonstrate 5 different custom nylon netting productions for different clients over the last few weeks that have customized portal locations in their design.  Most of these nets were built from either the #36 X 1-3/4″ knotted nylon netting, or the thicker #72 X 1-3/4″ knotted nylon netting for maximum abrasion resistance and strength.

If you need a quotation on something similar, feel free to contact us with your details and we can take a look at it for you!
