Gourock offers a variety of netting options for Football use, ranging from Kicking Practice Nets to Goal Post Safety Nets – all made to your own custom sizing requirements. 

Football barrier netting is available to be prepared to your own preferred custom dimensions, which can be entered into Gourock’s online custom netting calculator. Nets for football and field or goal post containment are supplied for commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential applications – and are chosen for barrier installations in both outdoor and indoor settings. There are a few recommended netting types and sizes used for football barrier purposes, all of which are available according to your own custom sizing.

Nylon Netting

4” and 1-3/4” mesh nets are both recommended for football barrier netting, and we supply those meshes in a range of twine thicknesses. All are constructed from 100% Made in USA DuPont® type 66-728 twisted-knotted nylon. 

#21, #30, and #36 twine thickness nets are recommended for football fields, indoor divider nets, barrier nets, spectator protection, indoor training center nets, gymnasium barrier, football kicking nets, and most all multipurpose football barrier installations for residential, scholastic, municipal, commercial, and professional uses

#12 and #15 twine thickness are good selections for lightweight and low-impact general football protection, and are popular for high-ceiling protection, lighting and sprinkler barrier, indoor window barrier, and other multipurpose football uses where the thinnest and lightest netting option is preferred. 

Most net options are black in coloring, but for football barrier netting installations that may require some alternative colors, consider the #40 X 2” knotless nylon netting selection which can be supplied in Black, White, Blue, Yellow. 

For incorporating a very heavy-duty type of football barrier netting, the #72 twine thickness nylon is the maximum-strength and abrasion-resistant selection.

Kevlar and HMWPE High Performance Netting

#12 X 1-1/2” Kevlar is a DuPont® Kevlar Model 956 High-Performance netting featuring a very high 292 lb. tensile strength and very low visibility, and is typically used for professional-level hockey arena barrier nets and spectator bleacher protection safety netting at professional-level hockey facilities. This is a premium netting selection for ultra-strength barrier netting applications for hockey rinks, stadiums and training facilities, industrial applications, high-safety spectator and audience protection, warehouse and conveyor uses, and other professional and commercial installations requiring NFPA 701 Certified High-Performance netting. #12 X 1-1/2” Kevlar netting also includes a 4mm polyester (590 lb. tensile) cord bordering around the perimeter edges as a standard product feature.

#18 X 1-3/4” High Molecular Weight Polyethylene is the material used in Dyneema® and Spectra® branded twine and cordage. This is a High-Performance HMWPE netting featuring a very high 410 lb. tensile strength with low wind-shear %, and is typically used for professional-level stadium barrier nets and backstop netting, as well as spectator bleacher protection safety netting at professional-level facilities. This is a premium netting selection for ultra-strength barrier netting applications for baseball and softball stadiums and training facilities, industrial applications, high-safety spectator and audience prote ction, warehouse and conveyor uses, and other professional and commercial installations requiring High-Performance netting.
