Custom Nylon Golf Hitting Nets and Golf Cage Netting

Golf impact netting and golf cage nets are often sourced by commercial training facilities and sports centers in order to offer their clients a dependable location for golf driving and hitting practice.  Golf netting is also very, very popular for private and residential users as well – and often our private-use customers opt to use the same types of materials and designs as what are supplied to pro-shops, organizations, and commercial golf centers.  Most of the time these sorts of golf nets require customized considerations regarding the sizing, shape, and design features of the finished product.

With Gourock.com you can use the online calculators to price and purchase golf impact netting to most any particular dimensions that you require for your project.  The most recommended and strongest netting option for golf is the #21 X 3/4″ DuPontĀ® type 66-728 twisted-knotted nylon netting.  This is a very tough material that incorporates a very high abrasion resistance along with a high tensile strength of 241 lbs./twine.  There are a couple of different approaches that are common for golf hitting nets:

  1. Golf Impact Netting Panels, which are 2-dimensional nets that are ordered and fabricated to whatever particular height X width required.  These are built from the #21 X 3/4″ knotted nylon netting, and they have a couple of different ways of being finished/bordered.  Here is the online calculator location for these on the Gourock site: http://www.gourock.com/golf-impact.html
  2. Golf Cage Nets, which are 3-dimensional netting products that feature the sides/end/ceiling all seamed together (rope bordered) and are ready to hang or suspend within your installation framing structure or ceiling cables.  These are built from the 3/4″ knotted nylon netting in either the thick #21 material, or there is also a lighter-wieght #15 twine to consider as well.  Here is the online calculator location for custom golf cage nets on the Gourock site: http://www.gourock.com/golfcages.html
Sports training facilities and golf practice areas will often decide to go with extra-large golf cage nets in order to maximize their hitting space, and to offer a larger volume of area to be swinging away in.  A pretty typical or conventional size for a golf cage net is about 10′ high X 10′ wide X 10′ deep – and at Gourock.com we have great options for these as well.  However in this next example you’ll see that the sports facility that had this recent custom golf net produced wanted to go with quite a bit more size and volume for their intended use.

Advantage Fitness in Lancaster, NY recently required a custom golf cage net that was being installed underneath a series of tensioned cables within their indoor training space.  Here is a great newspaper article about the business if you’d like some good background on their operation.
For this net, what they wanted to do was go for an extra large golf cage net that they could slide back-and-forth on their cables to get it out of the way for when the space was being utilized for other purposes.  Also – the large size of it would allow for more ball flight and more opportunities for multi-person use if needed.  And through Gourock it is possible for both of these characteristics to be handled without any issue at all.
First of all, nylon is a very user-friendly material that condenses down quite easily to smaller spaces (for storage, or sliding on cables), so the installation technique on wires is really functional with the knotted nylon netting material.  And also, we can integrate additional ropes or connection lines running through the mesh if needed.  These extra ropes are very helpful for clipping to cables with hooks, and where you often see these being added to the design (on larger golf cage nets like this one) is right down the middle section of the ceiling.
And secondly, the sizing needs are always available through Gourock.com since we specialize in the supply of custom netting!

This golf netting production for Advantage Fitness had the following unique characteristics, and you can view the images below for greater context into the netting, design, and the installation itself:
  • #21 X 3/4″ knotted nylon netting
  • 12′-8″ high X 15′-11″ wide X 25′ long
  • 5/16″ polyester rope bordered on the edges, with an additional center-ceiling line running through the top
  • Secondary layer of impact netting (reinforcement netting) to layer over the entire back end-panel, 12′-8″ high X 16′ wide with top rope and tails
Thanks again Mark!  Great working with you, and we appreciate it!
