Nylon Netting is an Excellent Selection for Ball Impact Nets

When it comes to crafting the perfect training sanctuary, the net itself is the silent hero. At Gourock.com, we offer premium nylon mesh as the material of choice for custom golf hitting nets. Why? Its exceptional combination of strength, stopping power, and breathability creates an unparalleled practice experience and product performance.

Nylon shines with its remarkable durability. This resilient material withstands countless balls, year after year, maintaining great resistance to tears or fraying. Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a pro-in-training, you can rely on its long-lasting performance to weather even the most intense practice sessions.

But stopping power isn’t just about strength. Nylon mesh excels at capturing every shot, from booming drives to delicate chips. Its strategically woven fibers absorb the impact of the ball, preventing rebounds and wayward escapes. This ensures safety and peace of mind, whether you’re practicing solo or sharing the net with friends.

The final piece of the nylon puzzle is breathability. Unlike solid materials, nylon mesh allows essential airflow, preventing wind build-up and ensuring a realistic swing feel. This minimizes distractions and lets you focus on perfecting your technique, without battling against unnatural resistance.

For over two decades, Gourock.com has been the trusted source for custom nylon netting solutions, serving clients of all sizes. From schools and teams to municipalities, universities, commercial training facilities, and organizations, we’ve helped countless golfers elevate their game with durable, reliable, and breathable nylon mesh nets.

Recent Custom Golf Netting Productions for Organizational Customers

To help demonstrate a couple of recent examples of custom golf hitting nets that are available from Gourock.com, here are some examples of netting productions that were facilitated for some organizational and commercial clients in the last few weeks. These golf nets were constructed from premium Type 66 Twisted-Knotted Nylon Netting, and 100% made to-order based on the sizing requirements preferred by our customers. In these two recent custom netting examples you can see that there are golf ball containment netting needs that were fulfilled in unique ways – to accomplish similar ball containment results.

Golf ball containment netting and impact nets for golf cages is a product that is very popular for training applications – including for many scholastic, municipal, organizational, and commercial golf installations. Golf netting nets that are being used for golf cages will include nets for the sides, end, and ceiling areas – in order to block and contain directly driven golf balls within a particular area. Sometimes golf cage netting is hung within a structural framing structure, and in other instances the golf cage hitting nets are suspended from wires or cables that span a certain area. In either case, the custom golf impact netting from Gourock.com are fabricated to custom sizing dimensions so that our clients can achieve their goals and needs for golf swing training and practice. Regarding the material used for golf ball impact uses, we supply 3/4″ mesh size twisted-knotted nylon netting. Gourock has a couple different twine thicknesses available in the 3/4″ mesh size, which is the #15 (125 lb. tensile rating) and the thicker #21 (210 lb. tensile rating). As general context, the #15 X 3/4″ is popularly selected for the outer ball containment netting (ceiling, sides, etc.) and the thicker #21 X 3/4″ is typical for the primary impact end.

Custom Golf Cage Net for Scholastic and Team Training Purposes

In the diagram shown here we present a custom golf cage net that was ordered and produced for a school team training client. They wanted a golf ball containment enclosure that could be utilized by 5 golfers at once in order to have a large volume golf swing training option for many players simultaneously. The outer enclosure netting was constructed from #15 X 3/4″ twisted-knotted type 66 nylon netting, to the sizing of 11′ high X 40′ wide X 10′ deep. The enclosure netting was seamed-together with 5/16″ polyester rope bordering with 1/4″ steel carabiner clips in all corners. Also included in this custom golf netting production was a series of 5 individual impact panel nets built to the sizing of 11′ high X 8′ wide. These secondary layers of golf impact material are to hang up within the golf cage netting enclosure to reinforce the back end of the primary hitting zone, and were built from the thicker twine #21 twisted nylon in the knotted 3/4″ mesh – also rope bordered around the edges. Over time, the wear-and-tear from constant golf ball impacts has an abrasive effect on hitting nets – so utilizing secondary impact panels protects the actual end panel of the overall golf cage net. In addition, when replacement nets need to be switched out you are dealing with removable secondary panels as opposed to the entire golf cage net as whole. This custom netting production was completed and ready to ship out to our customer in 2 weeks from the order being placed, and shipped directly to the school organization for their installation on-site.

Nylon Netting for Cruise Ship Ball Containment Cage Needs

This second recent custom golf hitting net example shows a series of nets that Gourock has supplied multiple times for one of our cruise ship outfitter clients. The cruise ships that they work with often include athletic practice areas for their travelers usage on-board. In many cases there are golf cages integrated into the cruise ship amenities – and Gourock.com has years of experience supplying the golf hitting nets for this type of application. In this particular case, our customer prefers to work with an individual net for each side/top/end of the framing structure – and also prefers to have the mesh constructed to a certain tightness or looseness in order to fit their installations needs well. Because of the commercial usage environment and the increase outdoor exposure considerations, all of these netting panels feature the #21 X 3/4″ type 66 twisted-knotted nylon golf impact netting. Each time there is a production job like this, there are typically 5 separate nets built and shipped – each with 5/16″ polyester rope bordered perimeter edges and some additional interior ropes that aid in the attaching of the nets to the framing. A custom golf hitting net order like this is generally done and ready to ship within a week of the order being placed.

    1. Good Afternoon Les – thank you for writing! What you may want to consider doing is using a couple of in-ground “sleeves” that auger into the soil, and they allow for a round pole/post to insert down into them. Ground sleeves also allow you to easily slide poles out as well – which is convenient when the preference is to take everything down efficiently (and pretty quickly). A lot of our golf netting customers will utilize a couple of ground sleeves, and then hang a golf impact net between the poles in order to drive/hit golf balls into. We don’t supply the sleeves or poles – however you can look into a supplier called “American Ground Screw” who have been very popular for the sleeves for our netting customers over the years. The poles you can pick up at a local hardware store or tubing/pole supplier. For the netting itself, you should use #21 X 3/4″ twisted-knotted nylon netting to hit golf balls directly into: https://www.gourock.com/golf_impact_nets.html Hopefully this information helps you out a bit more with your research, and feel free to keep in touch at any time! – http://www.gourock.com
