Twisted-Knotted Nylon Netting for Sports Barrier Containment Needs
Below we present some great photo examples of a recent custom netting job that we supplied to a commercial sport court installer. Our client was a contractor that specializes in the construction of steel framing structures, and they wanted to incorporate ball containment netting around the multi-sport court playing space that was built for one of their residential clients. This particular location featured a really nice playing area in order to practice basketball, soccer, tennis, and all types of other sports that the property own may want to get into over the years. However, as you can see from the photos below, the sport court was located in an elevated area of the property that was closely surrounded by other homes, roofs, hills, and general neighborhood features – making it mandatory to encompass the space with netting to ensure proper function and safety.
Our customer had constructed a high-quality surrounding framework structure around this sport court space, and needed custom nets to suspend within the steel poles. The intended end result was to encapsulate the full perimeter and the ceiling area with ball containment netting, ensuring that all objects within the playing court remained safely blocked from leaving the space and potentially creating safety issues for the players and the outside environment. So in this case, the best product solution was the 1-3/4″ mesh size twisted-knotted nylon netting that we have available to be prepared to any customized dimensions needed. There were 5 netting panels built for this sport court project – which included an individual netting panel for each vertical wall of the framing structure, along with a netting panel for the ceiling area as well. All of these nets were built in the diamond mesh pattern with a 5/16″ polyester rope bordered edge – and we fabricated to the precise dimensions requested for each area of coverage. The 1-3/4″ mesh size is recommended for multi-sport containment purposes, as it is a functional mesh sizing to block tennis ball sized objects and larger (pickleball, baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc.).
